NASCAR Driver Statistics - CHEEZ-IT 355 at The Glen

Not all teams announce their weekly race previews'. Here is a list of those teams that do reveal the information in the teams race preview: 

#1- Jamie McMurray -  McMurray has 10 starts at Watkins Glen. He has one top-five, two top-ten finishes and has led 12 laps.  McMurray has an average starting position of 16.5 and an average finish of 20.3.  His best qualifying result was a front row start from the second position in 2010 and a best finish of third in 2006. 

#2- Brad Keselowski - Keselowski has 3 previous Cup starts at Watkins Glen and has 2 top 5's and 2 top 10's with a best finish of 2nd in 2012. He has led 39 laps and has an average start of 16.000 with an average finish of 8.000.

#5- Kasey Kahne - In nine Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen International, Kahne has three top-15 finishes. He has completed every lap that he has attempted at the 2.45-mile road course (814 laps total). The driver of the No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet SS has two top-10 starts at the Glen, including an outside pole position in 2006. Kahne earned his best result at Watkins Glen last year when he crossed the finish line 13th.

#9- Marcos Ambrose - The past two years, Marcos Ambrose and the No. 9 Stanley Racing team of Richard Petty Motorsports have closed down Watkins Glen International while celebrating in Victory Lane. Ambrose is the defending two-time winner at the road course in Upstate New York and is looking for a three-peat this weekend. He has finished top 5 in all 5 previous starts at the Glen and has an average start of 13.200 and average finish of 2.oo and hea hsa led 46 laps. 

#10-Danica Patrick - The 355k at The Glen at Watkins Glen International will mark Danica Patrick’s 32nd career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and her first at Watkins Glen.

#14-Max Papis - Papis has made 35 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts, with a career-best finish of eighth in 2009 at Watkins Glen. He has 3 previous starts at the Glen with an average start of 28.7 and an average finish of  24.3. He has competed in Formula One, Indy car, sports cars and other NASCAR divisions, including the Nationwide Series, Camping World Truck Series and Canadian Tire Series. 

#15- Clint Bowyer - Since joining MWR as crew chief of the No. 15 Toyota, Brian Pattie and driver Clint Bowyer have never finished outside the top-five at a road course. The pair scored a win at Sonoma Raceway in 2012, a fourth place finish at Watkins Glen in 2012 and a fifth place finish at Sonoma in June. In 7 previous starts at The Glen, Bowyer has 1 top 5 and 2 top 10's. His average start is 19.428 with an average finish of 15.571.

#16- Greg Biffle - Biffle has 10 Sprint Cup career starts at Watkins Glen, earning one top-five and three top-10 finishes. Last time at Watkins Glen Biffle looked to have a top-five finish in his sights, but got in some oil on the last lap, dropping him back slightly to sixth.

#17- Ricky Stenhouse Jr - Stenhouse will make his first Sprint Cup start at Watkins Glen this weekend. Stenhouse is currently 21st in the point standings. Last year in the three road course races on the Nationwide schedule, Stenhouse finished 12th or better including a fourth place finish.

#18- Kyle Busch - The 355k at The Glen will mark Kyle Busch’s 315th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and his ninth Sprint Cup start at Watkins Glen International. Busch has three top-fives and seven top-10s, and has led a total of 159 laps in eighth career points-paying Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen. His average Watkins Glen finish is 9.0.

#20- Matt Kenseth -  In 13 Sprint Cup Series career starts at Watkins Glen International, Matt Kenseth has an average finish of 15.0, has completed 1,173 of 1,174 (99.9 percent) career laps. Kenseth has earned four top-10 finishes earning his best finish of eighth twice (2003 and 2012). 

#22- Joey Logano - In 4 previous Cup races at Watkins Glen Joey Logano has scored 1 top 5, a 5th place finish in 2011. His average statt spot is 20.000, while his average finish is 21.500.

#24- Jeff Gordon - Gordon has experienced success at Watkins Glen International. In 20 starts at the 2.45-mile track, the driver of the No. 24 Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet SS has four wins, two poles, six top-fives and nine top-10's. Jeff Gordon leads all active drivers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in laps led at Watkins Glen with 233 laps led in 20 starts.

#27- Paul Menard - Menard has nine starts at Watkins Glen International. His best start of 14th came in 2009, and best finish of 12th came in 2012. The Wisconsin native has completed 807 of 814 laps attempted (99.1 percent) at the 2.45-mile road course. 

#29- Kevin Harvick - Since his first appearance in 2001, Harvick has made 12 starts at Watkins Glen International. In those 12 starts, the California native has collected one win (2006), two top-five and six top-10 finishes. Harvick holds an average starting position of 13.2 coupled with an average finishing position of 13.1, has completed 97.4 percent (1,056 of 1,084) of the laps contested, with 29 laps led.

#31- Jeff Burton - This weekend's event marks Burton's 20th start at the road-course facility in Upstate N.Y. and 677th-career Sprint Cup Series entry. Burton has garnered two top-five and five top-10 finishes at the track, leading 54 laps.

#39- Ryan Newman - In 11 Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen International, Newman has one top-five finish and three top-10's. Additionally, the 35-year-old from South Bend, Ind., has led 20 laps, has an average starting position of 9.6 and an average finish of 15.8 at the 
2.45-mile road course. 

#42- Juan Pablo Montoya -  Montoya has just six starts in his NSCS career at the Glen, in that time he has one win in 2010, one pole from last year, two top-five and four top-10 finishes.  His average start at the Glen is 10.3 with an average finish of 15.0. Montoya has led 81 laps and completed 497 of 542 laps total around the 11- turn road course.

#43- Aric Almirola - In only 2 starts at the track, Almirola scored his best Sprint Cup road course finish at the New York track last season, 18th. He also tallied his career-best road course finish in the NASCAR Nationwide series at the Glen with an eighth-place finish in the 2011 event.

#47- A J Allmendinger - In four starts at Watkins Glen International, the 31-year-old Allmendinger has one top-five and two top-10 finishes. He has led 8 laps and has an average start of 15.250 and an average finish of 9.000.

#48- Jimmie Johnson - Watkins Glen International is one of five tracks on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit where Johnson has failed to win – Michigan , Chicagoland, Homestead-Miami and Kentucky Speedway are the others. At The Glen, Johnson has scored four top-five finishes (36.4 percent) and six top-10s (54.5 percent) in 11 starts, one pole (2009). He has an average start of 6.2 and average finish of 13.3, completed 927 of 994 laps (93.3 percent) and led 11 with one DNF (did not finish, August 2004)

#88- Dale Earnhardt Jr -  In 13 Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen International, Earnhardt has recorded two top-five finishes and three top-10s. He has completed 92 percent of all the laps he's attempted (1,080 laps of 1,174 total). The 38-year-old driver has led 46 laps there.

#99- Carl Edwards - Edwards will make his ninth Cup start at Watkins Glen this weekend. In his previous eight starts, he has accumulated three top-five and five top-10 finishes. He has an average start of 12.5 and finish of 9.4 there. According to NASCAR’s Loop Statistics compiled over the last eight races at The Glen, Edwards has run 506 laps in the top 15 which is fourth highest and his driver rating (94) is seventh best among active drivers.
