NASCAR Driver Statistics - Bristol Irwin Tools Night Race

Not all teams announce their weekly race previews'. Here is a list of those teams that do reveal the information in the teams race preview: 

#1- Jamie McMurray -  McMurray has made 21 NSCS starts at Bristol Motor Speedway.  In those starts he has three top-five and nine top-10 finishes.  He has completed 10253 of 10513 (97.5%) laps of competition and led 21 laps.  He has a best starting position of third (August 2007) and a best finish of third on two occasions (August 2004, August 2010).  McMurray has qualified in the top-10 on nine occasions at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) where he has an average start of 16.4 and an average finish of 16.8.

#2- Brad Keselowski - In seven previous starts at Bristol, Keselowski has scored 2 wins, 3 top 5's, 3 top 10's with no DNF's. His most recent was in March of 2012. Keselowski has led 409 laps at the track and has an average start of 13.714 and an average finish of 12.143.

#5- Kasey Kahne -  In 19 Sprint Cup starts at Bristol Motor Speedway, Kahne has one win, four top-five finishes and eight top-10's. He also has earned one pole position and has led a total of 456 laps.

#9- Marcos Ambrose - The driver of the STANLEY Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports has nine previous starts at the Bristol Motor Speedway. He has finished in the top-10 in four of those races and twice in the top-five. The half-mile track has proved to be one of the best ovals for Ambrose. He has best finishes of third and fifth.

#10-Danica Patrick - The Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway will mark Danica Patrick’s 34th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and her third at Bristol. She has three NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at the .533-mile oval. Patrick started 34th and finished ninth in the August 2012 Nationwide race at Bristol. One night later, in the Sprint Cup race, she was in the top-20 and on the lead lap with 66 laps remaining when her car was hit by another and contacted the SAFER Barrier on the inside retaining wall of the frontstretch. She finished 29th.

#14-Mark Martin - The Irwin Tools Night Race will be Martin’s 871st career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and his 47th Sprint Cup start at Bristol Motor Speedway. Martin has two wins, a series-best nine poles, 12 top-threes, 16 top-fives, 23 top-10s and has led a total of 1,200 laps in his 46 career Sprint Cup starts at Bristol. His average start is 10.3, his average finish is 13.7 and he has a lap completion rate of 94.1 percent. In his 46 Sprint Cup starts at Bristol, Martin has driven for only three team owners: Bud Reeder (two starts), Jack Roush (38 starts) and Rick Hendrick (six starts). Saturday night’s race will be Martin’s first start for Stewart-Haas Racing.

#15- Clint Bowyer - Bowyer has 15 Cup starts at Bristol, earning  5 top 5's, 8 top 10's and 2 DNF's. His best finish of 3rd was last scored in March 2008. Bowyer has an average start of  20.267, an average finish of 16.200 and he has led 82 laps at the track.

#16- Greg Biffle - Biffle has 21 Sprint Cup Series starts at Bristol, earning six top-five and 11 top-10 finishes. He has an average starting position of 13.4 and finishing position of 12.1 at the short track. Backup Chassis: RK-803 Last ran Bristol – finished 11th.

#17- Ricky Stenhouse Jr - Stenhouse made his first Sprint Cup start at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile in March, earning a respectable 16th-place finish. Stenhouse has six Nationwide career starts, earning one top-five and two top-10 finishes. Stenhouse is currently 21st in the Sprint Cup point standings and leads the Rookie of the Year standings.

#18- Kyle Busch - The Irwin Tools Night Race will mark Kyle Busch’s 317th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and his 18th Sprint Cup start at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Busch has five wins, eight top-fives and 12 top-10s, and has led a total of 1,431 laps in 17 Sprint Cup starts at Bristol. His average Bristol finish is 9.8.

#20- Matt Kenseth -  In 27 Sprint Cup Series starts at Bristol Motor Speedway, Kenseth has completed 13,101 of 13,513 laps (97.0 percent). Kenseth ranks fifth of active series drivers for laps led at Bristol with a total of 1,007 laps. Kenseth has an average starting position of 16.8 and ranks 7th of active Sprint Cup Series drivers with an average finish of 12.9.  Victories in both 2005 and 2006 mark Kenseth’s best finishes at the half-mile high-banked track.

#22- Joey Logano - In 9 previous Cup starts at Bristol, Logano has 1 pole and 1 top 10, an 8th place finish in August of 2012. Logano has led 144 circuits around the bullring and has an average start of  9.444 with an average finish of 21.556. 

#24- Jeff Gordon - Along with five wins at Bristol, Gordon has five poles, 16 top-fives and 22 top-10's in 41 starts at Bristol. His 6.878 average starting position is best among active drivers while Gordon also tops active competitors with 2,713 laps led - 1, 282 more than any other driver. Gordon leads all drivers in lead lap finishes at the track with 27. 

#27- Paul Menard - Menard has 12 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at the half-mile oval. His best start of fourth and best finish of fifth both came in 2011. In Menard's last five Sprint Cup Series events at Bristol Motor Speedway, he has earned four top-10 finishes. The Wisconsin native has completed 5,990 of 6,009 laps attempted (99.7 percent) at the Bristol, Tenn., track, leading 36 of them.

#29- Kevin Harvick -  Jimmy John's joins Harvick and the No. 29 team for their fifth of eight races during the 2013 Sprint Cup Series season. Since his first Sprint Cup Series appearance at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2001, Harvick has made 25 starts at the half-mile oval. In those 25 starts, the California native has collected one win (April 2005), nine top-five and 12 top-10 finishes. Harvick holds an average starting position of 17.8 coupled with an average finishing position of 12.6, has completed 98.2 percent (12,290 of 12,513) of the laps contested and led 427 circuits.

#31- Jeff Burton - This weekend's 500-lap event marks Burton's 40th start at the half-mile bullring and his 679th-career Sprint Cup Series entry. Burton has garnered one win, eight top-five and 15 top-10 finishes at the track and led 322 laps at the Bristol, Tenn.-based race track.

#34- David Ragan - Ragan is familiar with Victory Lane at Bristol. He won at the track in the Nationwide Series in 2009. On the Sprint Cup level, the 27-year-old driver has one top-10 and two top-15 finishes at the half-mile oval. 

#39- Ryan Newman - In 23 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at Bristol, Newman boasts 3 poles, 1 top-five and 13 top 10 finishes. Additionally, the 35-year-old driver has led 112 laps of competition, has an average starting position of 10.4, an average finish of 16.9 and has completed 93.4 percent of the laps he’s contested (10,754 of 11,513).

#42- Juan Pablo Montoya - Montoya has 13 career NSCS starts at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) which includes three top-10 finishes. The Colombian driver has completed 6483 laps out of the possible 6513 (99.5%) and has led 29 laps. His best starting position is second in the fall 2007 race and his best finishing position is seventh in the fall 2010 race.

#43- Aric Almirola - Almirola will make his ninth start at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend in the No. 43 RainEater Wiper Blades Ford. The driver posted his best finish of eighth at the .53-mile short track in 2008. In March, after driving up through the field, a flat tire ended the team’s day early and relegated the team to a 37th-place finish.

#47- Bobby Labonte - In 41 starts at Bristol Motor Speedway, Bobby Labonte has three top-five and 10 top-10 finishes and has led 60 laps. His average start is 22.073 and his average finish is 21.122. His best finish is third (3/23/03).

#48- Jimmie Johnson - At Bristol Johnson has One win (March 2010), seven top-five finishes (30.4 percent) and 13 top-10s (56.5 percent) in 23 starts. He has one pole (August 2010), an average start of 15.7 and average finish of 14.3. He has completed 11,262 of 11,513 laps (97.8 percent) and led 789 with one DNF (did not finish, August 2005).

#55- Brian Vickers - Vickers owns two top-five and three top-10 finishes in 17 starts. He’s led 127 laps. He’s finished in the top eight in the last three races at Bristol driving the No. 55. 

#88- Dale Earnhardt Jr - In 27 Sprint Cup Series starts at Bristol Motor Speedway, Earnhardt has scored one win, seven top-five finishes and 13 top-10s. The 38-year-old driver has an average finishing position of 11.6 and has completed 98.9 percent of all laps he's attempted (13,365 of 13,513 total) at the short track. He has led 758 laps at the .533-mile oval.

#99- Carl Edwards - In 18 starts at the 0.533-mile bullring, Edwards has two wins, four top-five, seven top-10 finishes and two poles. His average start is 18.5, and his average finish is 14.6.  Edwards has completed 8583 of 9013 (95%) laps attempted at Bristol. According to NASCAR’s Loop Statistics compiled over the last 18 races at Bristol, Edwards has turned 292 of the track’s fastest laps which is tenth highest, spent 5,208 laps in the top 15 (eighth highest) and led a total of 345 laps (eleventh most).
