Watkins Glen Driver Statistics

Not all teams announce their weekly race previews'. Here is a list of those teams that do reveal the information in the teams race preview: 

#1- Jamie McMurray - McMurray has made nine starts at Watkins Glen, earning one top-five, and  two top-10 finishes.  He has completed 781 laps out of a possible 814 laps, or 95.9 percent, and has led 12 laps.  In his nine starts his highest starting position was second in 2010, and his highest finish was third in 2006.  McMurray’s average start is 17.2 and his average finish is 18.2.

#2- Brad Keselowski - Keselowski has 2 starts at Watkins Glen and finished 2 last August at the track.

#5- Kasey Kahne - In eight Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen International, Kahne has two top-15 finishes. Kahne has completed every lap that he has attempted at the 2.45-mile road course (724 laps total). The driver of the No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet has two top-10 starts at the Glen, including an outside pole position in 2006.

#9- Marcos Ambrose - Ambrose heads to “The Glen” with an impressive resume, posting one win and four top-three finishes in his four-career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at the Watkins Glen, N.Y., track. His average start is 15.2 and his average finish is 2.2. Ambrose has completed 100 percent of laps attempted (362), leading 38 of them. Ambrose also has three-consecutive wins in the NASCAR Nationwide series at the New York road course.

#10-J J Yeley - Yeley will make his fourth start in a Cup car at Watkins glen this weekend. His best finish was eighteenth in 2007.

#14-Tony Stewart - Stewart has five wins, seven top-twos, 10 top-10s and has led a total of 225 laps in his 13 career Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen. His average Watkins Glen start is 6.2, his average Watkins Glen finish is 7.1, and he has a lap completion rate of 100 percent.

#15- Clint Bowyer - Bowyer will make his seventh Sprint Cup Series start at Watkins Glen International on Sunday. In his six previous starts, Bowyer has one top-10 (ninth in 2009). On average he starts 21st and finishes 18th. He finished 11th in 2011 and led his first and only career lap at Watkins Glen.

#16- Greg Biffle - Biffle has nine starts at Watkins Glen, earning one top 5 and two top 10's.

#17- Matt Kenseth - Kenseth has an average starting position of 19.0 and an average finishing position of 15.6 at WGI.  Kenseth has achieved three top-10 finishes at Watkins Glen in the Cup series. Kenseth has completed 1,083 of 1,084 (99.9 percent) laps at Watkins Glen and led for one lap.

#18- Kyle Busch - Busch has one win, three top-five and six top-10 finishes and has led a total of 116 laps in seven career Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen. His average Watkins Glen finish is 9.3.  

#22- Sam Hornish Jr - Hornish is making his third Cup start at Watkins Glen and has a best finish of fourteenth which came in August of 2010.

#24- Jeff Gordon - Gordon has nineteen starts at the Glen and has earned two poles, four wins, six top 5,s, nine top 10's and only three DNF's. His last win at the track came in 2001.

#27- Paul Menard - In eight career NSCS starts at “The Glen,” the Eau Claire, Wis., native has completed 99 percent of the laps (717 of 724). Menard logged his best finish of 16th in the 2010 event at the 2.45-mile road course. His best start of 14th came in August 2009.

#29- Kevin Harvick - The 36-year-old driver made his first NASCAR appearance at Watkins Glen International in 2000 for RCR while competing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Harvick has completed a total of 1,541 laps at the 2.45-mile road course between the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series. The Bakersfield, Calif., native has collected a total of two wins (NSCS – 2006, NNS – 2007), eight top-five and six top-10 finishes, one pole award and is credited for leading 109 circuits.

#31- Jeff Burton - This weekend’s event marks Burton’s 19th start at the road-course facility in Upstate N.Y. and 641st-career Sprint Cup Series entry. Burton has garnered two top-five and five top-10 finishes at the track, including back-to-back ninth-place finishes the last two seasons.

#36- Dave Blaney - Blaney has ten previous starts at Watkins Glen, with a best finish of eighteenth in 2002.

#39- Ryan Newman - In ten starts at watkins Glen, Newman has scored one top 5 and r top 10's with his best finish of second coming in 2002.

#42- Juan Pablo Montoya - Montoya has made five NSCS starts at Watkins Glen, earning one win in 2010, two top-five and four top-10 finishes.  He has completed 434 laps out of a possible 452 laps, or 96 percent, and has led 80 laps.  At The Glen, Montoya has an average start of 12.2 and an average finish of 11.4.

#43- Aric Almirola - The race on the 2.45-mile, seven-turn course will be the second road race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.  Almirola has one previous Sprint Cup start at Watkins Glen - a 35th-place finish in 2008.  He also has an eighth-place finish at the course in the Nationwide Series (2011).

#48- Jimmie Johnson - Johnson has ten starts at Watkins Glen, although he has no wins, Johnson has earned One pole (2009), three top-five finishes (30 percent) and five top-10s (50 percent) in 10 starts, one DNF (2004) and an average finish of 14.2

#51- Kurt Busch - Busch has one top-five finish and four top-10s and has 62 laps led in 11 career Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen. He earned a Sprint Cup career-best second-place finish at Watkins Glen in 2010. Busch’s average Watkins Glen finish is 19.8.

#55- Brian Vickers - Vickers owns seven starts at Watkins Glen International. He has a career-best finish of eighth came in August 2005. 

#88- Dale Earnhardt Jr - In 12 Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen International, Earnhardt has recorded two top-five finishes and three top-10s. He has completed 91.4 percent of all the laps he's attempted (991 laps of 1,084 total). The 37-year-old driver has led a total of 46 laps there, pacing 33 circuits in the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in 2008.

#99- Carl Edwards - Edwards will make his eighth Cup start at Watkins Glen this weekend.  In his previous seven starts, he has accumulated three top-five and five top-10 finishes. He has an average start of 11.7 and finish of 8.7 there. Edwards has completed all 634, or 100 percent, of the laps he has attempted in Cup competition at The Glen. It’s one of 
only two tracks where Edwards has never led a lap in Sprint Cup competition. Kentucky is the other track
